This lesson will show you how to create your Revenue Categories and later assign them to Reservation Types, Membership Types, Groups and/or Manually added individually billed items.

Administration

Click on Administration.

Billing Administration

Click on Billing

Revenue Categories

click on Revenue Categories.

Adding a Revenue Category

1. Add your revenue category Code

2. Type in your Category Label.

3. Add Remarks (optional).

4. Check all Tax rates that apply (leave blank if no tax will be applied to the revenue category).

**Any billing item assigned to the revenue category will have the tax rate applied automatically.

5. Click Add Category

**Trainer Tip:The revenue category code can be the same as the General Ledger code in your accounting program or you can create a custom code.

New Category Added

You can view your new category listed and if you wish to edit the category click on the label itself - see below.

Edit an Existing Category

1. Click on the Category name from the list. The category data is populated back.

2. Modify the Code, Subcategory of, Label or Remarks.

3. Check all Tax rates that apply (leave blank if no tax will be applied to the revenue category).

*Any billing item assigned to the revenue category will have the tax rate applied automatically.

4. Click on Update Category to save your changes.

**Trainer Tip:Click on Deactivate if you no longer wish to utilize the Revenue Category.

Adding a Sub Category of a main Revenue Category

1. Type in your category information.

2. Click on Choose.

Assign the Parent Category

1. Type in the Parent Categories revenue code you created and click on Use Code

OR

2. Click on the Parent Category to choose that code.

Added the Category

Click on Add Category.

Reminder: Check all tax rates that apply (leave blank if no tax will be applied to the revenue category).

**Trainer Tip: Any billing item assigned to the revenue category will have the tax rate applied automatically.

Sub Category Created

You will now see your new revenue category as a subset of the Parent Category.
