How to Add Inventory to a Product

This lesson will show you how to add inventory to your existing products

Administration

Click on the Administration link

Point-Of-Sale

Scroll down to Point-Of-Sale and click on the Product Categories/Inventory link

Product Categories/Inventory

Click on the category of the product you would like to edit.

Note: To edit a Product Category you can double click on the category name or click on the product name and click Edit Category to edit or delete

Quick Inventory Update

In the Quick Inventory Update section

1. Enter the SKU number of the product into the text-box next to SKU. If you use the Barcode Reader you can put the cursor in SKU text-box and scan the product. The SKU will appear.

2. Select option to adjust the inventory:

  • Make a adjustment (+ or -): Allows you to enter a + or - when entering your quantity that will add or remove from your units in stock
  • Set Inventory: Will change the number of units in stock to the number entered in your quantity

3. Quantity: Enter the quantity of that product that you have received into the text-box next to Quantity.

4. Date/Time of Adjustment: By default, this will have the current date and time. You can change this by clicking on the date/time.

5. Select an Adjustment Reason:

  • Other (default)
  • Discrepancy
  • Bought New Stock

6. Comment (Optional): Allows you to enter comments about your adjustment.

3. Click Add Inventory Adjustment.

 

Alternate Inventory Update

Click on the pencil associated with the product you would like to add inventory to.

Add Inventory

1. Select option to adjust the inventory:

  • Make a adjustment (+ or -): Allows you to enter a + or - when entering your quantity that will add or remove from your units in stock
  • Set Inventory: Will change the number of units in stock to the number entered in your quantity

1. Enter the number of units you are receiving in the Quantity field

2. Click on Update Product.
