This lesson will show you how to create your Revenue Categories to later assign them to Reservation Types, Membership Types, Groups or Manually added to individual billed items.
Billing Administration
Scroll down to Billing Administration and click on the Revenue Categories link
Adding a Revenue Category

1. Add your revenue category code
2. Type in your Category Label
3. Add Remarks (optional)
4. Check all tax rates that apply (leave blank if no tax will be applied to the revenue category)
* Any billing item assigned to the revenue category will have the tax rate applied automatically
5. Click Add Category
* The revenue category code can be the same as the General Ledger code in your accounting program or you can create a custom code yourself
Note: Click on Show Deactivated to view or reactivate any deactivated revenue categories
New Category Added

You can view your new category listed and if you wish to edit the category click on the label itself - see below.
Edit an Existing Category

1. Click on the Category name
- The category data is populated back at the top of the page
2. Modify the Code, Subcategory of, Label or Remarks
3. Check all tax rates that apply (leave blank if no tax will be applied to the revenue category)
* Any billing item assigned to the revenue category will have the tax rate applied automatically
4. Click on Update Category to save your changes
Note: (optional) Click on Deactivate if you no longer wish to utilize the Revenue Category
Adding a Sub Category of a main Revenue Category

1. Type in your category information
2. Click on the Choose link
Assign the Parent Category

1. Type in your the parent categories revenue code and click on Use Code
OR
2. Click on the Parent Category to choose that code
Added the Category

Click on Add Category
Reminder: Check all tax rates that apply (leave blank if no tax will be applied to the revenue category)
* Any billing item assigned to the revenue category will have the tax rate applied automatically
Sub Category Created

You will now see your new revenue category as a subset of the parent category
