Why would I check or un-check 'Can Schedule' or 'Can Sell' for Reservation Types?

The two options 'Can Schedule' and 'Can Sell' are really each asking you a question; Do I want to be able to place this Reservation Type on the schedule? & Do I want to be able to sell or create a package for this Reservation Type?

By having 'Can Schedule' checked on, it places the Reservation Type in the 'Add New Reservations' window, which pops up when you click into the schedule to create availability. You can find it there in the drop-down menu next to the 'Reservation Type' field, that way you can simple select it, and those settings and label are what will appear on the schedule.

By having 'Can Sell' checked on, it places the Reservation Type name in the Package Rates section, so you can build a package for that type of reservation to sell to clients. You will notice any Reservation Types with 'Can Sell' checked on appear in the drop-down menu next to the 'Reservation Type' field in Package Rates.

If you have a service (lessons, class, training, etc.) that you don't need to create a package for to sell, and you simply just need to be able to block time out for it on the schedule, this is an example of when you will keep 'Can Schedule' checked on and deselect 'Can Sell.'

If you have a service that you don't need to show on the schedule and/or that is not specific to a Reservation Type, but can be purchased and used for more than one reservation, then you will deselect 'Can Schedule' and only keep 'Can Sell' checked on.
